Finance as a Lens on Sustainable Value

This space explores where Islamic finance and sustainable finance converge. Both systems share a commitment to ethics, connection to the real economy, and long-term value.

I studied Islamic finance in the UK, believing that Korean companies need to understand the financial language and norms of Islamic markets to remain competitive in that region. A structure based on real assets and profit-sharing rather than interest, principles that prohibit speculation and exclude social harm—Islamic finance is a unique point where ethics and finance meet. This philosophy led me to broaden my interest into sustainable finance.

This blog begins at that intersection. I created this space to introduce Islamic finance to the Korean market while exchanging ideas on sustainable finance with global market participants. I will slowly explore questions from practice and research—sukuk structures, ESG bonds, sustainability-linked instruments, and more.
